Speakers 2007: Tom Clark, MPF

Tom Clark is Executive Vice President of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (Metro Denver EDC) and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce (DMCC). He began this position in February 2003. Mr. Clark served as president and CEO of Jefferson Economic Council (JEC) in Golden, Colorado from 1998 to 2003, served as executive vice president of operations and external affairs at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, served as president and CEO of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, served as president of the Greater Denver Corporation, served as vice president of business development at the Denver Chamber from 1985 to 1994, and was appointed by Illinois Governor Jim Thompson to head the state’s economic development programs in 1979. In 1988, the MDN was awarded the nation’s highest honor in economic development and the Arthur D. Little Award for Excellence in Economic Development. That same year, he was selected as Economic Developer of the Year by the Economic Development Council of Colorado. In 1989, Mr. Clark was selected as one of the nation’s top ten economic development professionals by the Council on Urban Economic Development. Mr. Clark received the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from his alma mater, Minnesota State University, Moorhead in September 2005. That same month, he was awarded the annual A-List Award from the Aurora Economic Development Council (AEDC). Mr. Clark holds Bachelor degrees in Speech and Psychology from Moorhead University and a Masters degree in Public Finance from the University of Illinois.
