Speakers 2008: Ken Detweiler

Ken Detweiler is the Director of Risk Related Activities for Colorado Springs School District 11. He has worked for the district for 14 years and is responsible for employee benefits, risk management, insurance and safety. The district has 3,400 employees and 30,000 students. Prior to District 11, Mr. Detweiler was employed by the Bell System where he worked for various telephone companies, Bell Telephone Laboratories and AT&T. He retired after 30 years from USWest as Vice President of Risk Management and Employee Services. Mr. Detweiler is currently serving on the Colorado Boards of Education Self-Funded Trust and the Executive Committee of the Colorado Business Group on Health. He recently retired as the Chair of the Board for the Colorado Delta Dental Insurance Company where he served for 9 years. He received his B.S. degree in Engineering Mathematics from the University of Arizona and did graduate study at Iowa State University and the Wharton School of Business.
